The program allows you to obtain medical records written with a PC, and therefore always readable.
We use A4 sheets, on which we print all processed pieces of information: medical history, objective examination, clinical diary, therapy, resignation, etc.
Only authorized persons can use this program, as it processes sensitive data. The algorithm checks surname, serial number, and the name of any user, and stops running if these data are not present in a particular file. User's name functions as a password at the beginning, and the user can change it at will. The surname of the person who opened the program appears on all the screens in a small yellow box at the top right of the screen.
The algorithm always points on a patient: the last patient on whom you worked. The name of this patient called an "active patient," appears in large letters in a garnet background box at the top left of the screen, along with the section and the bed number. When you discharge a patient, his letter will be stored in the current year's directory. The algorithm stores patient's data in a separate file.
We have developed this program for a cardiology division: anyone who wants to use it for a different address division will have to ask to modify the screens according to their needs.
A cardiology division is assumed to consist of the following sections:
Hospitality Department
Coronary unit
Post-intensive unit
Day Hospital
For convenience, the algorithm considers a fifth section called "Recycle Bin," in which patient records can be transferred for any need. From this section, the folders can be reported in any bed of any section, or deleted.
The clinical record program manager has a "management program" that allows you to:
1. enter the names of the persons authorized to use the program in the appropriate file.
2. delete the names.
3) indicate to the algorithm the address for the program service files and the archive files.
4) tell the algorithm which sections to activate, showing the number of beds available.
5. establish the headings for the printed sheets, including the names of the division, sections, and persons responsible for them.
6) Change the password to access the management program.
